E-Learning Exam Policy

Attention E-Learning Students
The E-Learning Exam Policy will be strictly enforced. Midterm and final examinations may be administered using Honorlock, an online remote proctoring service. Students are responsible for complying with all testing requirements and procedures.

Honorlock Testing Requirements
When taking a proctored exam through Honorlock, students must:
  • Present a valid photo ID for identity verification.
  • Complete the required room and desk scan before beginning the exam.
  • Ensure that only the approved photo ID is present at the testing station.
  • Remove all unauthorized materials from the testing area, including books, notes, papers, backpacks, purses, cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, headphones, and other electronic devices.
  • Turn off and place all unauthorized devices out of reach before beginning the exam.
  • Test in a private location where no other individuals are present.
  • Remain at the computer for the duration of the exam unless otherwise authorized by the instructor.
  • Allow sufficient time to complete the exam before starting the testing session.

Webcam and Testing Environment Requirements
To ensure proper proctoring, students must:
  • Use a functioning webcam and microphone.
  • Ensure their face remains visible throughout the exam.
  • Avoid wearing hats, caps, sunglasses, or other items that obstruct facial identification.
  • Place the computer on a stable surface such as a desk or table.
  • Avoid taking exams from a bed, couch, or other unstable location.
  • Refrain from moving or adjusting the webcam once the exam has begun.
  • Test in a well-lit environment and avoid sitting with a bright light source or a window behind them.

Honorlock restricts access to unauthorized websites, applications, and resources during testing. Students may not access other programs, websites, devices, or materials unless specifically authorized by the instructor.

On-Campus Testing
Students who do not have the required technology or testing environment to complete exams remotely must schedule an on-campus testing appointment through the RegisterBlast link in Canvas.
No walk-in appointments will be permitted. Students must schedule an appointment in advance and adhere to all testing center procedures.
Exam dates and testing windows are listed in the course syllabus, Canvas course site, and on the E-Learning webpage.

Make-Up Exams
All exams must be completed during the designated testing period. Students who are unable to take an exam as scheduled must contact their instructor before the testing deadline to request approval for a make-up exam.
Make-up exams will be granted only for documented extenuating circumstances, including but not limited to:
  • Medical emergencies supported by a physician's excuse
  • The death of an immediate family member is supported by an obituary or funeral documentation
  • Court appearances supported by a subpoena
  • Other circumstances approved by the instructor

Unless otherwise approved, all make-up exams must be completed within one week of the original exam date. Students required to take a make-up exam on campus must schedule an appointment through RegisterBlast.

Failure to Complete Exams
Failure to complete a scheduled exam or an approved make-up exam may result in a grade of zero for the assessment and may lead to failure of the course. Final determination will be made by the course instructor in accordance with course policies and college procedures.
